Creative director, Albert Kriemlers always seem to look towards art and architecture for inspiration. This Pre-Fall, he went towards cinematic lines. The collection takes a more Vintage route, with the Classic berets, knee length pleated skirts, tweed, trench coats, and of course the fur. Making me think Parisian, as I look through the pictures of these fascinating pieces. And to me, this collection just screams, “So Right Now!” As the rich hues of Oxblood, Navy, and Red are coming back into play along with Vintage inspired pieces, and of course the Artsy vibe seen throughout the Spring 2014 collections. Now who would want a traditional lace dress, when you could get the same thing in a bolder, more Artsy, and more now fabric from Akris?
Karl Lagerfeld is known for creating trends. This season, at Chanel and Fendi came an array of different fabrics put all together: creating artistic masterpieces. While the models literally were walking trough a museum of Chanel modern art, came the … Continue reading
As you may already know, I have always admired the Preppy and Classy styles, that never really seem to leave the well-known Fashion Radar. So today, I decided to wear my new black, lavender, grey, and fuschia argyle sweater, (which … Continue reading
Oh how time has gone by! It seems like yesterday when the year 2012 has just started, and now November will be gone, and December would have arrived 2 weeks from now. And Vogue Japan officially released their January 2014 Cover! Starring a Vogue Japan favorite, Karlie Kloss.
On the Cover, Kloss brings out the asethic, seen in one of my favorite editorials, “The New School Uniform” which appeared back in the Vogue’s September 2013 issue. Wearing a Preppy Ralph Lauren hat, monochrome striped sweater, a white blouse, black blazer, and a black scarf; each seen in the brand’s Fall 2013 collection. But what I’m thinking is isn’t the cover look kind of “last year” since this is a 2014 issue, not a 2013 issue?
That’s what many people are thinking about this new cover. As much as I love Karlie Kloss as a model, and although she stuns on her Vogue Japan covers, (this is her 4th Cover), I am a little bit tired of seeing Kloss appear on the cover of the magazine over and over again. And many people are to complain about the issue, as Japanese Supermodel, and Actress Tao Okamoto was the first Japanese women to score the cover of Vogue Japan, itself, after 3 years!!!!!!! Okamoto was on Vogue Japan’s October 2013 issue, Stunning in a Beautiful plaid Celine ensemble. As stunning and as unique as Okamoto’s cover look was, Kloss’ latest cover look for the magazine was not so Stunning. Hopefully Vogue Japan will get the memo soon.
