I’ve always admired Longchamp for their Classic handbags, that come in any color that you can imagine. Making their campaigns always exciting, especially in the Springtime when candy coated handbags are plastered throughout the whole entire campaign. I also enjoy the Supermodels and Actresses seen in their campaigns, happily showing off their handbags. As excited as I am, Alexa Chung has been tapped the face of Longchamp’s Spring 2014 Campaign, as the campaign had been released earlier today. For me, I feel Chung fits the brand of Longchamp very well, and I’m excited to hopefully see Chung do more work with the brand.
Oh how time has gone by! It seems like yesterday when the year 2012 has just started, and now November will be gone, and December would have arrived 2 weeks from now. And Vogue Japan officially released their January 2014 Cover! Starring a Vogue Japan favorite, Karlie Kloss.
On the Cover, Kloss brings out the asethic, seen in one of my favorite editorials, “The New School Uniform” which appeared back in the Vogue’s September 2013 issue. Wearing a Preppy Ralph Lauren hat, monochrome striped sweater, a white blouse, black blazer, and a black scarf; each seen in the brand’s Fall 2013 collection. But what I’m thinking is isn’t the cover look kind of “last year” since this is a 2014 issue, not a 2013 issue?
That’s what many people are thinking about this new cover. As much as I love Karlie Kloss as a model, and although she stuns on her Vogue Japan covers, (this is her 4th Cover), I am a little bit tired of seeing Kloss appear on the cover of the magazine over and over again. And many people are to complain about the issue, as Japanese Supermodel, and Actress Tao Okamoto was the first Japanese women to score the cover of Vogue Japan, itself, after 3 years!!!!!!! Okamoto was on Vogue Japan’s October 2013 issue, Stunning in a Beautiful plaid Celine ensemble. As stunning and as unique as Okamoto’s cover look was, Kloss’ latest cover look for the magazine was not so Stunning. Hopefully Vogue Japan will get the memo soon.

Lady Gaga. Liya Kebede. Barbra Streisand. Christy Turlington Burns. Malala Yousafzai. Natalie Massenet. Gabby Giffords. And Kaitlin Roig-DeBellis. What all these amazing women have in common is the fact that they were each awarded at Carnegie Hall, last night, in New York City at Glamour’s 23rd Annual Women of the Year Awards.
The award winner that I really admire is 16 year old, Malala Yousafzai, who was a victim of an assassination attempt about a year ago. After she stood up to Taliban rule, and advocating for education for girls. Transforming into a Global symbol for the power of a peaceful protest. Since surviving a gunshot wound in her head. Now that’s what I call an Amazing, brave, hardworking, and Beautiful woman that isn’t afraid to stand up for what she believes in. And when issues strike that we don’t agree with, Yousafzai is definately the perfect role model of showing anyone how to stand up for what you believe in. Epically when standing up to something as powerful as the Taliban. What I can’t believe is that she has done so much and she’s only 16!!!!!!! Now that’s a brave woman.
For all of these women’s courage, bravery, and help to make this world a better place, Girls really do run the World.
