Guy Laroche Spring 2014

According the Guy Laroche‘s Marcel Marongiu’s show notes, a passion for Science fiction is what drove this Spring 2014 collection. But what really makes this collection appealing is the mixture of textures and, and styles used throughout the collection. Marongiu seems to have this super feminine girl, mixed with a Sports Jock be the theme for his collection. A style, which I really admire, has been a lot throughout Fashion Week, including the memorable lace dress, paired with a blue hoodie, worn over the dress at Rebecca Taylor. But Marongiu does his a little different.

Using more slouchy silhouettes and more long and flowing skirts, Marongiu really gives the looks a more Sporty feel to feminine elements. Marongiu also mixes up the styles, while pairing a hoodie over a feminine and flowing skirt. Unlike Rebecca Taylor, Marongiu doesn’t lace, rather uses many different more Scientific inspired textures. My favorite though: the grey Flapper inspired ruffled gowns.

Erdem Spring 2014

Rather than his usual pastel shade and Floral prints, Erdem Moralioglu opts for a more Dramatic and Classy collection filled with shades of Black and white. Walking to the beat of Cello and Piano performers, the models wore Beautiful feathers and lace ensembles, each equally Stunning and perfectly Glamorous and Romantic for any Spring event.

Christopher Kane Spring 2014

image image image image image image

Taken place on two floors, and in three rooms in an old warehouse, Christopher Kane presented a Stunning Edgy, Feminine, and of course Glamourous collection. Throughout the collection, Kane uses many very feminine fabrics like Baroque, lace, and floral prints, and shades of white, pastels, and Black. Giving them cutouts for such an edgy, very Christopher Kane feel. Like many designers, I love how Kane incporated in many hoodies paired with lace. Which I think really describes, the feminine and edgy feel here at Kane.

Towards the end of the collection, we see many Grecian inspired dresses in silk and Baroque fabrics, many in a Chic neutral shade. But Kane really gives the Beautiful Grecian inspired gowns a Chic modern edge with bedazzle and Beautiful, Classy pointed toe pumps, seen throughout much of today’s show.

Derek Lam Spring 2014

The hair was left down or in a Natural, effortless ponytail, (depending on what look the model wore). The makeup was left very natural, and Beautiful with an Edgy zig-zag cat eye across the eye. Makeup Done by the Estée Lauder crew.

Derek Lam begins his collection, sending models down the runway in navy or black and white, not your tablecloth checkered printed ensembles. Some with a cloth tied around their head, for a very modern, Gypsy or African inspired look.

Models then come down the runway in Beautiful trench coats and shirts, paired over very feminine lace dresses, in your light, more pastel shades. Lam pairs the feminine and Girly ensembles with Gladiator sandals, very gypsy inspired. For an edge to the Sweet lace and pastels.

At the end of the show, Lam sends models down the runway in either black or white dresses, with the shoulders peeking through. Each with a Beautiful fringed neck scarf. The last few looks consisted of Beautiful monochromatic gowns, my favorite a strapless gown in the shade of Daffodil.

Models Mirte Maas, Tilda Lindstam, Maria Bradley, Shu Pei, and Alana Zimmer show off many of the Chic looks.

Iconic fashion designer, and Project Runway judge, Michael Kors is definately a fashion favorite. Today he presented his Resort 2014 collection in New York City showing off Flirty and Fun staples.

The collection showed off lots of Chic leopard print, a Fun classy favorite of mine. Khaki played a key role, as many baggy khaki pants and trench coats were seen. Lots of black and white was also seen, with many Chic suits and head to toe white looks. The googles form the Spring 2013 collection made a comeback, as the models showed off the Chic googles in white once again. Brights were also seen to give a fun twist to the mostly natural collection, for the perfect vacationing collection of the season. Wherever you go, you’ll always look Chic if your wearing Michael Kors Resort 2014.
