Isabel Marant Spring 2014

Lace isn’t always sweet. As in Isabel Marant’s collection, I see this very soft, Romantic and Feminine vibe, mixed with this more edgy girl vibe, signature to the House of Isabel Marant. The white lace sheer fabrics, and the effortless Country girl inspired flowers give the collection a very Romantic and Feminine vibe. And the black leather brings a very well found edge to the collection. Marant does add something new, that has been seen a lot throughout Fashion Week: ruffles. But as many collections incorporating ruffles have been channelling a more Modern Marie Antoinette, like at Balenciaga and Zac Posen, Marant goes a more Flirty and Versatile way. With models channelling them on leather, and silk. Really showing that ruffles aren’t just for making yourself look like a Modern Marie Antoinette this Spring. Instead, they give every woman a very flattering and Flirty twist to their Spring wardrobe. Who wouldn’t wear those baggy black leather pants that Sasha Luss sported pretty much 24/7?

After his remarkable debut at the House of Balenciaga last season, Alexander Wang went way beyond his homage phase today. “I wanted to bring ease into the DNA and codes of the house that I’m working with,” Wang stated. As his collection showed such Feminity and Purity, while keeping a more Relaxed and Chill vibe at the same time. Many of the pieces remind me of Modern day 17th-Century fashions, with the many ruffles, and the many Baroque inspired prints. The collection also has this such Cool and Relaxed vibe, with many of the pieces exposing the midriff, and Classy trenches and suits, with some sheer fabric, showing off a little but still very conservative. The collection, really shows off Balenciaga’s DNA with an Alexander Wang vibe to it, extremely Chic and very wearable to the average women. There is definitely something for every woman in this collection.

Alexander Wang Spring 2014

Watching the livestream, I was definitely obsessed with everything about the collection. Even my Dad admired the soundtrack so much that he wants to become “Cool” again. Kind of creepy. But when Wang sent out many fresh faces throughout his show, I am still pretty excited to see which will become the Next Supermodel by the end of Spring 2014 Fashion Week. As Wang’s known for doing so. Supermodels Behati Prinsloo, Georgia May Jagger, Kati Nescher, Joan Smalls, and Erin Wasson closing the show made remarkable, (and exciting), appearances.

I admired the button-downs, and the laser-cut leather jackets paired with really look waisted pleated skirts, for such an edgy take on Classic appearal. Which I shave noticed throughout Wang’s collection, filled with pieces of all colors, most of the looks consisted of a Classy, more formal separate, and then paired with something more edgy or causal, like a laser-cut leather jacket or a baggy pant. Definitely the Chicest, and Versaitle way to show off some edge with Classy separates. Something that I am now begging to try.¬†The one piece that I am definitely begging to have is the ¬†shirts that said, “Parental Advisory,” that Georgia May Jagger and Sam Rollinson both sported. Now who wouldn’t some Alexander Wang for Spring?

Tilda Lindstam, Chiharu Okungi, Amanda Murphy, Cora Emmanuel (pictured far right), Catherine McNeil, Ashleigh Good, Kate Upton, and Sam Rollinson are the newest members of Top 50 Models.

Aspiring models everywhere try to make it to become the next big Kate Moss or Gisele, each year. But only a few get to make it, even into coveted Top 50 Models, Industry Icons, The Money Girls, and very few make it into The Supers. has officially changed up their rankings, as they annually do in September and in February. Who made it?

The Top 50 Models Rankings have been moved around a lot. Joan Smalls does remain Number 1, Saskia Number 2, Liu Wen Number 3, Karmen Number 4, and Cara Number 5, (scream). But where is Karlie Kloss? She has moved down to Number 9????? Which I just think is plain old crazy because Kloss is the Newest Victoria’s Secret Angel, scores millions of new campaigns by the minute, and she sells Karlie’s Kookies, and designed her own line of jeans for tall girls. Me and probably about every other Karlie fan is pretty upset over this. In the Top 10, Daria Strokous is Number 6, Suvi 7, Edie 8, Karlie 9 and Sigrid at 10. Which surprises and excites me that Sigrid didn’t move after many models, including Karlie Kloss moved down.

The Newest edition to the Top 50 Models has definitely excited me a lot. Seeing two of my favorite Newcomer Models, from the Fall 2013 fashion season graduate over to the Top 50 Models in just a difference of months wasn’t enough, as Sports Illustrated Supermodel, Kate Upton, Catherine McNeil and Tilda Lindstam also scored coveted spots on the list. I was definitely shocked, yet excited at the same time to see Sam Rollinson, one of my favorite Newcomer models, rank 17 on the Top 50 Models list, from scoring the Burberry Prorsum campaign three years ago, little known to now scoring Balenciaga, J Brand, and Sonia Rykiel campaigns. I was also very excited to see one of my other favorite Newcomers, Ashleigh Good rank 26, after becoming a Karl Lagerfeld, and campaign favorite. Good ranks 26, along with fellow Chanel campaign star, Chiharu Okungi. Kate Upton scores slot 15 for her campaign work at David Yurman, while Catherine McNeil at 16 with Sam Rollinson for her Amazing comeback this Fall 2013 season, even winning Fashion Tv‘s First Face Countdown for the season, ranking up campaigns for Prada and Donna Karan, and did you hear? She’s engaged to boyfriend Miles Langford! Also Miucca Prada’s Newest Muse Amanda Murphy scores the 20th slot! But the last two to make it in to the Top 50 Models was Tilda Lindstam and Cora Emmanuel, both such Gorgeous models who have had such short year long careers and have now made it. With Tilda known for her famous Streetstyle and campaigns for Tory Burch, Calvin Klein, and Chloe. Cora for her Stunning Balmain Fall 2013 campaign, and contracts for many other brands, including H&M and Tommy Hilfiger. And you know, I can’t flip through any Fashion magazine now without seeing any of these Beautiful 8 faces in it!
