Balmain Fall 2014

Whether it was the military inspired staples, going Global feel, or the Balmain that caught people’s eye. For me, it was all of the above. As a baggy olive pocketed leather jacket gets paired with a zebra and knitted pencil skirt. Fringe gives a Classic leather pencil skirt, an eccentric feel. While the peplum remains the keen staple, in a tribal way. Creative Director, Oliver Rousteing, is definately the genius when it comes to mixing staples, with Balmain’s signature edge.

Best Dressed at Last Night’s Victoria’s Secret After Party

After all the hype and excitement from Last night’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, then came the after party. Where all the models sported their best and Sexiest party dresses for the night.
My 5 favorites last night were: Kasia Struss, Sigrid Agren, Josephine Skriver, Caroline Brasch Nielson, and Martha Hunt.
As a big fan of Versace‘s Fall 2012 collection, myself, I couldn’t help but just lust over the STUNNING black sequined evening gown, with a slit of course, that Kasia Struss sported. And with that natural, glowing makeup and Sexy Victoria’s Secret waves. What could look any better?
The Society’s Sigrid Agren, Josephine Skriver, and Caroline Brasch Nielson each sported Stunning dresses, each personalizing their style. Making all 3 of them top my Best Dressed list. With Agren wearing a draping pink silk gown, similar to the pieces from Chanel‘s Spring 2010 Haute Couture collection, but more Sexy and modern. While Brasch Nielson sported a more preppy, military inspired white dress, with golden buttons going all the way up to the neck. Very Chic, but not too preppy. And Josephine Skriver sported a Sexy LBD, taking the plunge and showing off a Chic and Sexy peplum. And showing off the glowing Victoria’s Secret waves and makeup, what could make any look look better?
As for Martha Hunt, I Love the lace top with the Balmain skirt with chains, such a great contrast of feminine mixed with edgy. Seen a lot throughout Balmain’s most recent collections.

Christian Dior Spring 2014

When you just see the setting of today’s Dior show, you remain speechless. With the Beautiful flowers in all hues, your instantly in a new, fascinating World. For Spring, the Dior girl looks as Feminine and as Preppy as can be, but she adds this more fun, and Tropical vibe to her Spring wardrobe. The collection really reflects the many shades of flowers, throughout the runway. As Dior’s Creative director, Raf Simons incorporates all shades, ranging from Neutrals to Brights, and to Soft pastels. Like many designers have been doing for Spring, Raf Simons is very playful with some of the fabrics, adding bright exciting patterns to Black high waisted trenches. But the golden eye makeup, really adds that exciting Dior touch. Looking at the collection, you also see this more preppy and Prestige vibe, as Simons designs many High-waisted trenches, Incorporates Houndstooth, and throughout the finale all the models sport a Chic Houndstooth vibe with their baroque gown, or Feminine black, office like suit. The mix of Preppy and Classy silhouettes, with the Bright hues, and vibrant patterns, is trend seen throughout Paris Fashion Week. But Raf makes his collection really stand out, with his Beautiful Dior clothing, literally reflecting off the Flower scenery hung up above. When Raf takes his bow, you know that this show was the most Stunning, and Most Beautiful yet to be seen. Another success, Raf!

Balmain Spring 2014

Like his Resort collection, Balmain‘s Olivier Rousteing gives Balmain’s signature edgy and Rock and Roll style, a more Feminine and Romantic twist. Using prints of Houndstooth and lace, and feathers, Rousteing pairs them with Edgy chains, Baggy suits, and even monochrome checkered print. Adding a very Hip Hop and Rock and Roll vibe. The perfect way to add a little touch of Hip Hop and Rock and Roll, even to the most feminine pieces. And who isn’t obsessed with those Sexy feathered Cotillion like gowns?

Tilda Lindstam, Chiharu Okungi, Amanda Murphy, Cora Emmanuel (pictured far right), Catherine McNeil, Ashleigh Good, Kate Upton, and Sam Rollinson are the newest members of models.com Top 50 Models.

Aspiring models everywhere try to make it to become the next big Kate Moss or Gisele, each year. But only a few get to make it, even into models.com coveted Top 50 Models, Industry Icons, The Money Girls, and very few make it into The Supers. Models.com has officially changed up their rankings, as they annually do in September and in February. Who made it?

The Top 50 Models Rankings have been moved around a lot. Joan Smalls does remain Number 1, Saskia Number 2, Liu Wen Number 3, Karmen Number 4, and Cara Number 5, (scream). But where is Karlie Kloss? She has moved down to Number 9????? Which I just think is plain old crazy because Kloss is the Newest Victoria’s Secret Angel, scores millions of new campaigns by the minute, and she sells Karlie’s Kookies, and designed her own line of jeans for tall girls. Me and probably about every other Karlie fan is pretty upset over this. In the Top 10, Daria Strokous is Number 6, Suvi 7, Edie 8, Karlie 9 and Sigrid at 10. Which surprises and excites me that Sigrid didn’t move after many models, including Karlie Kloss moved down.

The Newest edition to the Top 50 Models has definitely excited me a lot. Seeing two of my favorite Newcomer Models, from the Fall 2013 fashion season graduate over to the Top 50 Models in just a difference of months wasn’t enough, as Sports Illustrated Supermodel, Kate Upton, Catherine McNeil and Tilda Lindstam also scored coveted spots on the list. I was definitely shocked, yet excited at the same time to see Sam Rollinson, one of my favorite Newcomer models, rank 17 on the Top 50 Models list, from scoring the Burberry Prorsum campaign three years ago, little known to now scoring Balenciaga, J Brand, and Sonia Rykiel campaigns. I was also very excited to see one of my other favorite Newcomers, Ashleigh Good rank 26, after becoming a Karl Lagerfeld, and campaign favorite. Good ranks 26, along with fellow Chanel campaign star, Chiharu Okungi. Kate Upton scores slot 15 for her campaign work at David Yurman, while Catherine McNeil at 16 with Sam Rollinson for her Amazing comeback this Fall 2013 season, even winning Fashion Tv‘s First Face Countdown for the season, ranking up campaigns for Prada and Donna Karan, and did you hear? She’s engaged to boyfriend Miles Langford! Also Miucca Prada’s Newest Muse Amanda Murphy scores the 20th slot! But the last two to make it in to the Top 50 Models was Tilda Lindstam and Cora Emmanuel, both such Gorgeous models who have had such short year long careers and have now made it. With Tilda known for her famous Streetstyle and campaigns for Tory Burch, Calvin Klein, and Chloe. Cora for her Stunning Balmain Fall 2013 campaign, and contracts for many other brands, including H&M and Tommy Hilfiger. And you know, I can’t flip through any Fashion magazine now without seeing any of these Beautiful 8 faces in it!
