Welcome to the Chanel Shopping Center

Welcome to the Chanel Shopping Center!!! Grab a cart, get your fresh groceries, and enjoy a Fall 2014 show!

After walking through an Art Museum, to joining the ranch in Dallas, we now enter the Chanel Shopping Center. The vibrant hues of the products, reflect off the clothing throughout the collection. As Creative Director Karl Lagerfeld plays with: Tweed, Metallics, Knits, Embellishments, and this season’s hottest new style: The Baggy Pant. While we get a little taste of the artistic elements from the Spring collection. When the bell rings, saying that the Shopping Centre is closed, you know a splendid show is over.

Always looking forward to the Chanel show at the end of Fashion Week, Lagerfeld has most definitely impressed me, yet again. And who can’t get enough of Lagerfeld’s muse, Cara Delevingne?

Looking Out the Windows

Butterfly embroidered gowns at Valentino. Insect wings outlining the gowns at Honor. Carolina Herrera taps her Pre-Fall collection, “Bee Happy.” Elephants and dragons are drawn on to the pieces at Roberto Cavalli. A feather coat adds that Wow factor at Chanel’s Pre-Fall show in Dallas. And Jean Paul Gaultier has only these words to describe his latest Haute Couture collection, “Life is a Butterfly!”
Ever since the Pre-Fall season began, designers have been looking out their windows for inspiration on their latest collections. Throughout the Pre-Fall collections, many designers demonstrated the importance of outerwear, with fur and feathered separates. While Reed Krakoff’s collection sure did seem to show off some of my favorite animal prints. Some designers seemed to opt more for flowers and insects, especially during last week’s Haute Couture Fashion Week. Carolina Herrera takes inspiration from the bumble bee, while at Valentino comes a segment filled with Butterfly embroidered gowns, in both the brand’s Haute Couture and Pre-Fall collection. While flowers get their share at Zuhair Murad, Giambattista Valli, and Elie Saab’s Haute Couture collections; and Matthew Williamson’s Pre-Fall collection. I guess doing something as simple as looking out the windows can produce a really fascinating collection.

Chanel Hits Dallas

Yeeeeeehaw!!!!!!!! Karl Lagerfeld presents Chanel‘s Pre-Fall 2014 collection in Dallas, bringing an array of Rodeo, Native American, and Cowgirl inspired ensembles. 56 years after Coco Chanel, herself, spent time in Dallas declaring that she will start designing Haute Couture again. In my opinion, Lagerfeld couldn’t have picked a better time to present a collection in Dallas, as fringe, animal prints and furs of all kinds, and Knee-high Equestrian boots have pretty much been dominating the runways. At Chanel, the theme was high fashion mixed with the fashions of Dallas. As tweed gets paired with fringe, feathers, Cowgirl hats, and Cowboy boots. Ponchos and bohemian inspired printed skirts and sweaters get paired with the Equestrian boot. Sheer and Sparkly evening gowns get a bohemian print, and are dressed down when paired with a denim jacket. While ruffles and frills also get dressed down with denim. Rodeo gal outfits leave me obsessed, (especially the blue Rodeo gal look that Sigrid Agren sported, which even Zac Posen swooned about last night on Instagram). And ponytails are finished off with Chanel feathered hairpieces. The outcome: Just one Stunning Chanel show.
