Jason Wu Mixes Fabrics for Pre-Fall

A beige blouse in a sheer fabric paired with a khaki leather pencil skirt. A white blouse paired under a black knitted sweater. And ruffled dresses paired under a hoodie for a casual vibe. For Pre-Fall, Jason Wu mixes fabric textures together, for a very Chic outcome. You see hoodies paired with leather and ruffles towards the beginning for an edgy outcome. While ruffles in fabrics of silk and lace are paired for a very decadate vibe towards the end.

Guy Laroche Spring 2014

According the Guy Laroche‘s Marcel Marongiu’s show notes, a passion for Science fiction is what drove this Spring 2014 collection. But what really makes this collection appealing is the mixture of textures and, and styles used throughout the collection. Marongiu seems to have this super feminine girl, mixed with a Sports Jock be the theme for his collection. A style, which I really admire, has been a lot throughout Fashion Week, including the memorable lace dress, paired with a blue hoodie, worn over the dress at Rebecca Taylor. But Marongiu does his a little different.

Using more slouchy silhouettes and more long and flowing skirts, Marongiu really gives the looks a more Sporty feel to feminine elements. Marongiu also mixes up the styles, while pairing a hoodie over a feminine and flowing skirt. Unlike Rebecca Taylor, Marongiu doesn’t lace, rather uses many different more Scientific inspired textures. My favorite though: the grey Flapper inspired ruffled gowns.

Missoni Spring 2014

Taking inspiration from Indian Sarongs, Volcano inspired prints, the Sea, Flowers, and even Japanese Pop Songs. Angela Missoni incorporated many colors and patterns into her collection. Making it very vibrant, and filled with tons of character.

And what would make a Missoni collection a Missoni collection without an endless number of Beautiful prints?

Calvin Klein Spring 2014

Marking his 10th Anniversary at the brand, Francisco Costa begins his Stunning Calvin Klein collection, designing fun, well-tailored dresses and top/skirt ensembles in Nylon sheer fabrics, Tweed, and of course silk.

Towards the middle and end of the collection, Costa sends out models in tweed dress ensembles with fringe. Costa also designed many Beautiful dresses in the signature Cage fabric that was seen a lot back at Spring 2013 Fashion Week, and at Christopher Kane‘s Resort 2014 show. Snakeskin and Polka dotted prints, and fringe were also key elements seen a lot at New York Fashion Week, and towards the end of Costa’s 10th Anniversary collection at Calvin Klein.
