Being a High School Freshman taking Geometry, it’s pretty ironic for me to see designers use geometrics in their collections. Geometry and architecture must’ve been in Tomas Maier’s mind for Fall. A shift, fuzzy sweater, and a pleated dress remained keen, as Maier gave each staple an artsy twist, with a geometric shape, or ruffles popping out of the shift, to really give each piece some character. The rich hues just up that flawless factor.
In the time between the switch of Marc Jacobs to Nicolas Ghesquière as Creative Director at Louis Vuitton, comes a Pre-Fall collection. Just like how I’d describe the velvet pants, zebra printed sweater, black Caridgan, and red scarf I wore yesterday; the collection most definately shows you how to Beat the Cold – The Chic Way. When an Oxblood sparkled skirt gets topped with a red sweater, leather boots, and a Ushanka. A short black collared dress gets warmed up with a Oxblood trench, Geometric thigh-high Boots, and a fur topper. And a fur jacket tops off a look warm enough to wear without a jacket in October.

It’s all about going back to the basics! Which was pretty much the motto throughout Gucci‘s Pre-Fall 2014 collection. In which Creative DirectorFrida Giannini focuses on sleek daywear staples, giving them an extra dazzle in bright hues such as: Tangerine, Hot Pink, Red, Daffodil, and Shades of Blue. Pairing them with black military inspired hats, similar to the ones sported by Aymeline Valade and Kasia Struss at Louis Vuitton‘s Fall 2011 show; for a more masculine feel. Giannini also incorporates your feminine staples, giving your average pleated dress seen in a Geometric print, while the fur coat gets paired with jeans and a geometric printed top.
I always love how Preen‘s Thornton Bregazzi designs many of his collections, using many different fabrics on dresses for a very artsy, Geometric feel. That style was seen a lot throughout the collection in Beautiful pastel and neutral shades. Which I think really brings a very fresh, and almost painter like style.
Besides his many artsy, Geometric ensembles, Bregazzi also designs many shifts in pastels, or a Neon pink, and cut in a very artsy way. The collection makes me think of an art studio really coming to life, with the clothing.

For Spring, Richard Chai used Edgy Graphic and Geometric prints, and plain neutral and red shaded dresses for Spring. In many shift dresses, and sheer fabrics Chai paired each of his looks with those Iconic black, tan or white wedged gladiator sandals.
Chai uses a red and sea foam green print. In plaid and Geometrical prints. And the hair & makeup is done very fresh, and a little Sporty. And each piece Evan work perfectly for running errands, and for work, or going to a Cocktail. Comfy, Sporty, and Chic.
