British designer, Jasper Conran kicks off Day 2 of London Fashion Week with a very simple, yet flattering collection. Sleeveless monochromatic dresses give the collection a bit of a sultry feel, while the khaki trenches bring back a Vintage feel. A functional LBD may just be your key piece, within the collection. While stripes and embellished Separtes may just leave a big enough statement as the dress that Jourdan Dunn wore in the Peter Pilotto for Target commercial. The collection, overall, perfectly demonstrates Pure Simplicity with a strong sensual feel.
Paris and Nicky Hilton sitting front row, a live performance from St. Vincent, Supermodels ranging from Karen Elson, to Joan Smalls, and even Jourdan Dunn and Karlie Kloss, and a raining glitter finale. With all that excitement, you know that there is something to celebrate, as Diane Von Furenstenburg has to celebrate 40 years of the Iconic Wrap dress. By now, pretty much anybody in fashion would know what the Wrap dress is, and would talk about it as they would Coco Chanel. What’s not to celebrate?
For the collection, Diane Von Furenstenburg presents none other than a flawless array of her signature flirtatious and vibrant prints, seen throughout the past 40 years of the Wrap dress. While colored furs wrap around some of the gowns for a bit of warmth during those days in the death of winter. In the finale, came a mist of raining glitter, with models in matching golden Wrap dresses, to celebrate none other than the dress’ 40th Anniversary.
As Vogue and CFDA’s Fashion Fund collaboration marks it’s 10th Anniversary, the hottest designers, and past winners came out to celebrate last night with Anna Wintour and Diane Von Furenstenburg, bringing their leading ladies. Tom Ford put the sizzle in the night, while Public School designers Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osbourne took home $300,000, winning the CFDA and Vogue Fashion Fund ‘New Designer of the Year.’
Having this be one of the biggest nights of the year in Fashion. I couldn’t help but adore the sheer LBD and leopard printed pumps that Lily Donaldson sported. While I just love the Juan Carlos Obandopolka dotted maxi and fruit inspired golden danglings that Jourdan Dunn wore. And who wouldn’t want to wear the black gown quoted, “You can dress me up! But you can’t dress me out!” Which Lisa Maycock stroke a pose in, and Behati Prinsloo has worn before.
Definitely a night not to miss, The Tenth Annual Vogue and CFDA Fashion Fund Anniversary Party was definitely a night to remember. Flip through the gallery to see the Best Dressed from last Night.
Pictures of today’s shoot in Times Square from Donna Karan and DKNY’s Instagram.
In none other than Times Square in New York City, Supermodels Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn star along with Rising star, Eliza Cummings for DKNY‘s Spring 2014 campaign. Since today is Columbus Day in America, and many tourists are in Times Square, I think that it’d be so cool to Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn striking poses as you walk by in Times Square. But one thing that I really like about DKNY’s campaign, is that there are a lot more Models used in the Campaign this time, besides just using and model as the face of the Men and Women’s fashions for DKNY. So I like to see the many faces shine for DKNY.
I’ve always loved the such timeless Class and Femininity with a modern British Girl twist that Christopher Bailey has really brought to the House of Burberry Prorsum. His Spring 2014 collection has definitely brought that Class and Feminity, with such Beautiful Glamour and Romance, as the collection starts with an array of all Sweet Things: Lace and Pastels.
In the middle of the show, Bailey sends models out in cute, very British Girl ensembles of stripes and polka dots, such a fun and Sweet way to incorporate prints, while still having effortless Class.
I see a little bit of a 40s inspired Sillohettes towards the end of the collection with many of the Beautiful tan and pastel shaded trenches belted Glamorously at the waist.
And then the finale came about, raining Cherry Blossom petals as the models made their way down the runway; then in a Cherry Blossom plastered runway, Christopher Bailey took his bow, then exiting the runway. For the most Classy and Feminine show I’ve so far this Spring season.
