Diane Von Furenstenburg Fall 2014 – Celebrating 40 Years of the Iconic Wrap Dress

Paris and Nicky Hilton sitting front row, a live performance from St. Vincent, Supermodels ranging from Karen Elson, to Joan Smalls, and even Jourdan Dunn and Karlie Kloss, and a raining glitter finale. With all that excitement, you know that there is something to celebrate, as Diane Von Furenstenburg has to celebrate 40 years of the Iconic Wrap dress. By now, pretty much anybody in fashion would know what the Wrap dress is, and would talk about it as they would Coco Chanel. What’s not to celebrate?
For the collection, Diane Von Furenstenburg presents none other than a flawless array of her signature flirtatious and vibrant prints, seen throughout the past 40 years of the Wrap dress. While colored furs wrap around some of the gowns for a bit of warmth during those days in the death of winter. In the finale, came a mist of raining glitter, with models in matching golden Wrap dresses, to celebrate none other than the dress’ 40th Anniversary.

A Mod and Retro-Modern feel for Nemin Marcus Holiday 2013 Lookbook

For Holiday 2013, Ginta Lapina and Karen Elson pose in some of the season’s hottest trends very wearable, and of course Chic way. Ginta Lapina captures a very Mod feel, making me think Marc Jacobs Spring 2013, and Anna Sophia Robb’s Mod and Twiggy inspired editorial in the February Issue of Teen Vogue. While Karen Elson captures a very Retro, more Ladylike feel. Bringing me reminiscene to Gucci’s ultra feminine and ladylike 40s inspired Pre-Fall 2013 collection. Both, though, each captured sported a very Modern feel within the clothing.

Anna Sui Channels Hippie for Spring 2014

Anna Sui channels Hippie for Spring, but she really gives the collection such a Chic, fun Modern vibe at the same time. Channeling many Bohemian inspired prints, long pendent necklaces, and many Beautiful headpieces going with the Natural looking curls the models sported for that Hippie vibe. Sui also used a variety of shades from Beautiful Jewel tones to Oranges and Reds, to Neutral hues, and just strikingly Beautiful Teal hues that just automatically give any look a Stunning spark.

Shoe wise, Sui designs many Beautiful gypsy like Gladiator sandals, a Huge staple seen on many of the Runways for Spring and a favorite of mine. And just Strikingly Gorgeous Wedges and sandals in Jewel tones or a neutral hue with many Gems encrusted on them.

The last few evening gowns really give off such a Chic Hippie, Bohemian vibe mixed with The Great Gatsby. With the tan jeweled dresses giving off that Hippie, Boehmian vibe, and the headpiece and Sparkles in the dress really bringing in such a Beautiful, 1920s Great Gatsby vibe. Definitely the most perfect combination of the both, anyone could ever think of.

Michael Kors Spring 2014

Michael Kors Spring 2014 collection brings such a Retro 1940s vibe and really brings reminscene to me of Meryl Streep in the 1970s film, Kramer vs Kramer. With the Beautiful trench coats, high-waisted shorts and bathing suits, a la Taylor Swift‘s striped bikini that she sported paddle boarding with Ed Sheeran, the Neutral hues, the Snakeskin bags and Clothing, and of course every look belted at the waist for that insta-hourglass shape. Kors collection also had such a Beautiful, Romantic and Feminine vibe to it, and wouldn’t want to grab one of those Buttoned trench coats, or Snakeskin bags in the winter months?

The models literally glowed on the Runway with Beautiful natural makeup, and their hair up into such a Chic, effortless bun for the summertime.

Safari with Feminine accents is how I’d describe today’s Diane Von Furenstenburg show. Karen Elson opens the show in a Beautiful black top, with a polka dot full skirt, very feminine. Until models walk down in an array of Beautiful long, flowy gowns and dresses in animal prints, tangerine, and a golden shade of tweed. Each wearing Beautiful, safari like wedges.

Towards the middle of the collection, Von Furenstenburg sent models down the runway in monochromatic white and Cobalt blue jumpsuits and maxi dresses. Or wearing a Safari like lace dress like Liu Wen. (pictured above)

Towards the end of the collection, Golden accents were added to the Safari like pieces seen throughout Von Furenstenburg’s collection.
