Isabel Marant Spring 2014

Lace isn’t always sweet. As in Isabel Marant’s collection, I see this very soft, Romantic and Feminine vibe, mixed with this more edgy girl vibe, signature to the House of Isabel Marant. The white lace sheer fabrics, and the effortless Country girl inspired flowers give the collection a very Romantic and Feminine vibe. And the black leather brings a very well found edge to the collection. Marant does add something new, that has been seen a lot throughout Fashion Week: ruffles. But as many collections incorporating ruffles have been channelling a more Modern Marie Antoinette, like at Balenciaga and Zac Posen, Marant goes a more Flirty and Versatile way. With models channelling them on leather, and silk. Really showing that ruffles aren’t just for making yourself look like a Modern Marie Antoinette this Spring. Instead, they give every woman a very flattering and Flirty twist to their Spring wardrobe. Who wouldn’t wear those baggy black leather pants that Sasha Luss sported pretty much 24/7?

Francesco Scognamiglio Channels Femininty with a Twist for Spring 2014

Lace. Black. Floral Prints. White. Lavender. And Ruffles. Make Francesco Scognamiglio’s Spring 2014 so feminine and Romantic as it is. Seen throughout all of the cities so far, many designers have designing collections with this very Glamour and Romantic vibe. So feminine staples are definitely in the air.

But in a swirl of collections filled with a Glamour and Romance vibe, Scognamiglio really makes his collection stand out, incorporating his signature ruffles into the collection. With many of his tied at the waist, each endhi with a fun ruffle, really giving the collection a Beautiful twist. But what makes his collection really stand out is the Edgy white and black ankle boots, seen on all the models. Really giving the collection a Stunning Edgy twist, without losing that Glamour and Romance vibe.

The Lace evening gowns at the end of Scognamiglio’s collection really look Haute Couture like. Wonder who will be first to sport one of Scognamiglio’s creations on the Red Carpet.
