As WWD said, Girogio Armani’s Emporio Armani collection reminds us where, “menswear and feminine elements come together.” Neutral hues, such as black, white, and grey remain key throughout the collection. While a baggy black shirt, trousers, and a ladylike hat & pair of gloves. A knit sweater, black striped blazer, and velvet trousers. And a ruffled trench gets paired with masculine separates. To perfectly show where our favorite masculine and feminine staples meet, the sensual Emporio Armani way.
After a Retro 1940s and Kramer vs Kramer inspired Spring collection this past September; for Pre-Fall Michael Kors keeps the vibe going, but in a more Masculine way. As trousers in khaki and tweed take the collection by storm. While trenches in checks and khaki in Menswear silhouettes polish off looks. For a more Masculine vibe. While bedazzled Wedgewood silk separates and a diamond brooch finish off every look for a more feminine, 1940s inspired vibe.
As Iconic Creative Director, Emma Hill, (who by the way helped give the House of Mulberry a name), departed Mulberry. The first collection without the designer at the brand gave Classic staples a Cute and Cozy twist. The importance of outerwear was shown, as puffy coats get a trench inspired silhouette and are finished off with a cute little bow. The bow, itself, seen a lot throughout the collection, as the bow is also seen on Pea Green draping silk tops, paired with a Classic black suit or pencil skirt. And even giving a blouse in a horiziontally striped print, usually seen on your traditional menswear button-down, a cute and feminine twist. While a tan jumpsuit with paisleys embroidered all over it; makes me reminscene the days when Emma Hill reigned at Mulberry.
For Spring, I just love how N 21‘s Creative Director, Alessandro Dell’Acqua mixed feminine and Classy elements, with many Casual, more Menswear like elements. Many of the ensembles throughout the collection are very Preppy tops paired with Sexy Sparkly and Lace pencil skirts. Definitely perfect Cocktail and Going Out attire.
Dell’Acqua also included many sleepwear elements in his collection, with many silk button-downs and dresses in shades of all kinds, and many Menswear Chic blouses paired with baggy shorts and Sexy pencil skirts. There is also a little bit of a Menswear vibe throughout this collection, with many Menswear like blouses and jackets. But the N 21 collection still has that such feminine and Romantic vibe, when paired with feminine styles of lace, ruffles, and silk. A Lace pencil skirt pick-me-up in February? Yes Please!
Donna Karan presented a Resort 2014 collection full of: Sparkles, See through fabrics, Black, and Menswear ensembles that are Very Chic and scream Cara Delevingne with a feminine twist added.
Lots of the pieces every well resemble current DKNY face, Cara Delevingne by the leather jackets, the edgy black booties, the Graphic t-shirts, and the baseball style caps. All very Chic and so right now. But this collection, consisting of 7 looks had a feminine twist to Cara Delevingne’s Edgy and Punk Streetstyle. Graphic tees were paired with long, flowy lace skirts and leather jackets in pink and paired with long, see through flowy dresses. And menswear ensembles paired with baseball style tees and lace dresses.
The Big trends seen here is: gold, lace, black, see through fabrics, and Menswear staples. Donna pairs a golden skirt with a grey sweater for a more summery look. Definately showing that sparkles aren’t just for winter. A new trend I see here is baseball inspired hats and t-shirts. Baseball caps were huge on the streets of Paris, Milan, London, and New York. And will definately be seen more and more as the Spring 2014 season comes in, as well as the baseball inspired tee. All Very Chic.
Here are photos of each of the 7 looks from the DKNY Resort 2014 collection.
