Looking Out the Windows

Butterfly embroidered gowns at Valentino. Insect wings outlining the gowns at Honor. Carolina Herrera taps her Pre-Fall collection, “Bee Happy.” Elephants and dragons are drawn on to the pieces at Roberto Cavalli. A feather coat adds that Wow factor at Chanel’s Pre-Fall show in Dallas. And Jean Paul Gaultier has only these words to describe his latest Haute Couture collection, “Life is a Butterfly!”
Ever since the Pre-Fall season began, designers have been looking out their windows for inspiration on their latest collections. Throughout the Pre-Fall collections, many designers demonstrated the importance of outerwear, with fur and feathered separates. While Reed Krakoff’s collection sure did seem to show off some of my favorite animal prints. Some designers seemed to opt more for flowers and insects, especially during last week’s Haute Couture Fashion Week. Carolina Herrera takes inspiration from the bumble bee, while at Valentino comes a segment filled with Butterfly embroidered gowns, in both the brand’s Haute Couture and Pre-Fall collection. While flowers get their share at Zuhair Murad, Giambattista Valli, and Elie Saab’s Haute Couture collections; and Matthew Williamson’s Pre-Fall collection. I guess doing something as simple as looking out the windows can produce a really fascinating collection.

Julien Macdonald Spring 2014

Using Silk, Tons of Sparkles, and Beautiful Embrodery, Julian Macdonald designs a Beautiful, almost Haute Couture Spring 2014 collection.

Throughout the collection, Macdonald incorporates many Sexy cutouts, and plunges throughout the collection. The pantsuits and bodysuits really reminded me of a Zuhair Murad or Alexandre Vauthier Haute Couture collection. Just Sexy, Feminine, Beautiful, and of course Chic.

Models: Nastya Kusakina, Carolina Thaler, and Vika Falieva show off their Beautiful looks at the Zuhair Murad Fall 2013 Haute Couture collection.

Zuhair Murad designed a Beautiful Haute Couture collection. Using many styles from mermaid to short to cutouts to long and flowy to some even with a Chic peplum. Each dress had one thing in common: they all flatter the waist, and the body of a women. Murad also used many colors: Cream, Emerald, Oxblood, Navy, Sky Blue, Gold, Charcoal, and Indiago. Murad also used many different fabrics from lace to velvet to silk, and even sparkles. I adored the lace and velvet contrast on Nastya Kusakina’s oxblood dress, and fell in love with the feathers on some of the dresses. After the last model made her exit, The Zuhair Murad bride came out wearing a Beautiful lace white gown with a gracious gown. The veil, very puffy, and Beautiful in front of the face, but long and gracious in the back. Such a Beautiful ending to Fall 2013 Haute Couture Fashion Week. Sooooo Chic, can’t wait to see what creations Jennifer Lopez and Sofia Vegara wear from this Beautiful Zuhair Murad Haute Couture collection.
