Balmain Fall 2014

Whether it was the military inspired staples, going Global feel, or the Balmain that caught people’s eye. For me, it was all of the above. As a baggy olive pocketed leather jacket gets paired with a zebra and knitted pencil skirt. Fringe gives a Classic leather pencil skirt, an eccentric feel. While the peplum remains the keen staple, in a tribal way. Creative Director, Oliver Rousteing, is definately the genius when it comes to mixing staples, with Balmain’s signature edge.

Preppy and Feminine Accents Get Punk at Vera Wang

As a Lover for Preppy and Feminine styles, I was super psyched to see Vera Wang give my favorite staples an edge. A trend that has been seen on the runways ever since the Spring 2014 shows back in September, has most definately become the memo here at Wang. As floral prints get dyed black. Argyle and Plaid edge up, with leather. And ruffles, chiffon, and lace go gothic.

Dennis Basso Is In a Celebratory Mood for Pre-Fall

As Dennis Basso reaches the 30th Anniversary of his label. He’s in none other than a celebratory mood, as he designs his Pre-Fall collection. Inspired by London in the 1960s, the collection takes a Vintage feel, but most definately with a Celebratory, modern twist. “Pre-fall can be uptown or it can be downtown,” the designer told WWD. “It’s all about the woman taking the pieces and making them her own.”
Getting to that point, a paisley printed top paired under a fur houndstooth Shaw, gives off a “Ready to Party” vibe. While an LBD goes Edgy underneath a black crocodile skin jacket with a bedazzled collar, and thigh-high Equestrian boots underneath. And a Sparkled evening gown gets transformed into daywear, when worn underneath a fur top with black thigh-high Equestrian boots, and finished off with a Chocolate Crocodile skin handbag and black gloves. I’m just left extremely in love with the collection as a whole.
