New York. London. Milan. And then Paris. After 4 Weeks full of flawless runway fashion, ending with yesterday’s Hermes show, it never hurts to take a look back. Enjoy flipping through the gallery at my favorite moments from Fall 2014 Fashion Week.
As Dennis Basso reaches the 30th Anniversary of his label. He’s in none other than a celebratory mood, as he designs his Pre-Fall collection. Inspired by London in the 1960s, the collection takes a Vintage feel, but most definately with a Celebratory, modern twist. “Pre-fall can be uptown or it can be downtown,” the designer told WWD. “It’s all about the woman taking the pieces and making them her own.”
Getting to that point, a paisley printed top paired under a fur houndstoothShaw, gives off a “Ready to Party” vibe. While an LBD goes Edgy underneath a black crocodile skin jacket with a bedazzled collar, and thigh-high Equestrian boots underneath. And a Sparkled evening gown gets transformed into daywear, when worn underneath a fur top with black thigh-high Equestrian boots, and finished off with a Chocolate Crocodile skin handbag and black gloves. I’m just left extremely in love with the collection as a whole.
A blue tweed trench with leather at the zipper. A military inspired olive colored jacket, buttoned around the neck. And a pleated skirt paired with an edgy suede jacket. As Pre-Fall 2014 Fashion Week is getting closer and closer to it’s peak each day, Belstaff has officially left me all obsessed with their latest collection. While some of my favorite Classic wardrobe staples, like the pleated skirt, the Equestrian Boot, Tweed, and Plaid are featured throughout the collection. They’re paired with pieces such as a leather separates, or cut in a way that it has a more Masculine or edge to it. Each paired black leather wedges or Equestrian boots. For a Chic grunge feel. Which in my opinion, feels so right now when it comes to Streetstyle. Now I can’t wait to see which Supermodel will be first to sport a piece from this collection on the streets of New York, London, Milan, or Paris.
I have always admired Alice Temperley‘s work at her brand, Temperley London, the collections are always Feminine and Classy; yet so Fresh and Modern at the same time. Not to mention, her collections never dare to leave me unimpressed. Especially her latest Pre-Fall 2014 collection. Which gives your favorite Classic and Feminine staples, (think LBD, lace, and a Staple Trench), a more Fresh, Modern twist, (thinking on the lines of bold embellishment, leather, and 60s inspired staples such as: bright pink shifts, floral printed jumpsuits, and geometric shifts). But as these Classic and Modern staples are mixed, I can’t help but see a bit of the delicate 1940s inspired fashions, like: the long full skirt, a feather Shaw, and long and luxuriously delicate evening Gowns towards the end of the collection. Even making me think a little bit of Great Gatsby. Overall, giving off a very Modern, yet Classy and Dramatic vibe all wrapped up in one stunning collection.
