Christopher Kane Puts his Artistic Skills to the Test

What’s one man’s trash, may be another man’s treasure. As for Fall, Scottish designer, Christopher Kane puts his art skills to the test. Crafting dresses, skirts, and jackets out of what appears to be fabric from none other than a garbage bag. Kane also showed off his crochet skills, with pop up shapes coming out of the sleeves of a neon sweater. While the cocktail gowns towards the end of the collection look as if they were sculptures taken out of an Art Museum, and then illustrated into the clothing. Some of the looks, still remained Classy, with a bit of an edge, with Elegant silhouettes, and a color domination of black and Ballet pink. I definately have to give Christopher Kane props for giving artistic, scpultural like clothing, more than an out-of-this-world Haute Couture like meaning.

Classy Is Getting a Bit Spunky

This morning, designer Eudon Choi gave my favorite Classy staples, a bit of a Spunky twist. When a navy tweed jumpsuit gets paired with an Emerald leather jacket. Black trench gets paired with knit red and daffodil leopard printed knit leggings. Moccasins get dyed a bright red. Grey tweed trousers get a funky twist with a leopard turtleneck and a Fendi bug big look alike. And a neutral dominated look gets red fringed pumps. Perfectly giving any girl with a style similar to Kate Middleton’s, (like moi), a bit of a boldly edge.

Adam Lippes Mixes Comfy with Schoolgirl in his Debut Pre-Fall collection

Designing his debut Pre-Fall collection, Adam Lippes takes inspiration from the schoolgirl uniform, mixing it with elements such as outerwear, showing how you can look Classy and stay warm this Fall season. As ugg boots definately aren’t the only option when staying warm this winter season. Lippes pairs a blue Oxford, underneath a fur jacket for a Preppy and Cozy vibe, while a black silk top and pants get paired for that decadate Sleepwear look for a comfortable night out. A traditional menswear inspired blouse gets a feminine feel with sheer sleeves, and a more masculine feel when paired with black trousers. And an LBD gets bundled up, while making a statement when 6 inches above the ankle, in a silk fabric, and paired with Fendi Spring 2013 inspired pumps. Definately making me want to cuddle up on the couch with a Cup of Hot Cocoa.

As yesterday, I was pretty much freezing to death, half of the day, I decided to bundle up today in none other than cashmere. Anyways, what’s better than cashmere on a cold December’s day? So I decided to pose with … Continue reading

Alice Temperley Gives Classic Staples a Modern Twist

I have always admired Alice Temperley‘s work at her brand, Temperley London, the collections are always Feminine and Classy; yet so Fresh and Modern at the same time. Not to mention, her collections never dare to leave me unimpressed. Especially her latest Pre-Fall 2014 collection. Which gives your favorite Classic and Feminine staples, (think LBD, lace, and a Staple Trench), a more Fresh, Modern twist, (thinking on the lines of bold embellishment, leather, and 60s inspired staples such as: bright pink shifts, floral printed jumpsuits, and geometric shifts). But as these Classic and Modern staples are mixed, I can’t help but see a bit of the delicate 1940s inspired fashions, like: the long full skirt, a feather Shaw, and long and luxuriously delicate evening Gowns towards the end of the collection. Even making me think a little bit of Great Gatsby. Overall, giving off a very Modern, yet Classy and Dramatic vibe all wrapped up in one stunning collection.
