Models.com Industry Icons List – The 3 Newest Members

Supermodels: Sasha Pivovarova, Doutzen Kroes, and Freja Beha Erichsen are the three Newest Industry Icons.

Aspiring models everywhere try to make it to become the next big Kate Moss or Gisele, each year. But only a few get to make it, even into models.com coveted Top 50 Models, Industry Icons, The Money Girls, and very few make it into The Supers. Models.com has officially changed up their rankings, as they annually do in September and in February. Who made it?

Well a dream for many models someday is to graduate from the Top 50 Models to the Industry Icons, and maybe even someday down the road to The Supers. Well the three new Industry Icons, who are now joining a coveted list of Supermodels including Natalia Voldinova, Coco Rocha, Stella Tenant and Karolina Kurkova. One of which is Victoria’s Secret Angel, and one of my all-time favorite models, Doutzen Kroes. Besides her Victoria’s Secret Angel contract, Kroes just seems to score more and more new contracts daily, one of which was for fronting Emilio Pucci’s Fall 2013 campaign. The second is Sasha Pivovarova, after ending her runway career in 2011, focusing more on her art. And then getting married and having her first child, a daughter in May of 2012. Sasha has definitely deserved a coveted spot as an Industry Icon. Being the face of Prada for many years now, and still having many contracts underway, a la Proenza Schouler and Juicy Couture for Fall, and a Saint Laurent for Resort season. Pivovarova has definitely got it all. But the other newest edition to the Industry Icons really excited me, Freja Beha. I have always been such a Freja Beha fan and I think that she really deserves to be an Industry Icon. With her Maybelline Contract, and many Vogue covers (internationally) underway, Beha has definitely graduated from that runway regular, to a more coveted Supermodel.

Tilda Lindstam, Chiharu Okungi, Amanda Murphy, Cora Emmanuel (pictured far right), Catherine McNeil, Ashleigh Good, Kate Upton, and Sam Rollinson are the newest members of models.com Top 50 Models.

The Top 50 Models Rankings have been moved around a lot. Joan Smalls does remain Number 1, Saskia Number 2, Liu Wen Number 3, Karmen Number 4, and Cara Number 5, (scream). But where is Karlie Kloss? She has moved down to Number 9????? Which I just think is plain old crazy because Kloss is the Newest Victoria’s Secret Angel, scores millions of new campaigns by the minute, and she sells Karlie’s Kookies, and designed her own line of jeans for tall girls. Me and probably about every other Karlie fan is pretty upset over this. In the Top 10, Daria Strokous is Number 6, Suvi 7, Edie 8, Karlie 9 and Sigrid at 10. Which surprises and excites me that Sigrid didn’t move after many models, including Karlie Kloss moved down.

The Newest edition to the Top 50 Models has definitely excited me a lot. Seeing two of my favorite Newcomer Models, from the Fall 2013 fashion season graduate over to the Top 50 Models in just a difference of months wasn’t enough, as Sports Illustrated Supermodel, Kate Upton, Catherine McNeil and Tilda Lindstam also scored coveted spots on the list. I was definitely shocked, yet excited at the same time to see Sam Rollinson, one of my favorite Newcomer models, rank 17 on the Top 50 Models list, from scoring the Burberry Prorsum campaign three years ago, little known to now scoring Balenciaga, J Brand, and Sonia Rykiel campaigns. I was also very excited to see one of my other favorite Newcomers, Ashleigh Good rank 26, after becoming a Karl Lagerfeld, and campaign favorite. Good ranks 26, along with fellow Chanel campaign star, Chiharu Okungi. Kate Upton scores slot 15 for her campaign work at David Yurman, while Catherine McNeil at 16 with Sam Rollinson for her Amazing comeback this Fall 2013 season, even winning Fashion Tv‘s First Face Countdown for the season, ranking up campaigns for Prada and Donna Karan, and did you hear? She’s engaged to boyfriend Miles Langford! Also Miucca Prada’s Newest Muse Amanda Murphy scores the 20th slot! But the last two to make it in to the Top 50 Models was Tilda Lindstam and Cora Emmanuel, both such Gorgeous models who have had such short year long careers and have now made it. With Tilda known for her famous Streetstyle and campaigns for Tory Burch, Calvin Klein, and Chloe. Cora for her Stunning Balmain Fall 2013 campaign, and contracts for many other brands, including H&M and Tommy Hilfiger. And you know, I can’t flip through any Fashion magazine now without seeing any of these Beautiful 8 faces in it!
