Oh how time has gone by! It seems like yesterday when the year 2012 has just started, and now November will be gone, and December would have arrived 2 weeks from now. And Vogue Japan officially released their January 2014 Cover! Starring a Vogue Japan favorite, Karlie Kloss.
On the Cover, Kloss brings out the asethic, seen in one of my favorite editorials, “The New School Uniform” which appeared back in the Vogue’s September 2013 issue. Wearing a Preppy Ralph Lauren hat, monochrome striped sweater, a white blouse, black blazer, and a black scarf; each seen in the brand’s Fall 2013 collection. But what I’m thinking is isn’t the cover look kind of “last year” since this is a 2014 issue, not a 2013 issue?
That’s what many people are thinking about this new cover. As much as I love Karlie Kloss as a model, and although she stuns on her Vogue Japan covers, (this is her 4th Cover), I am a little bit tired of seeing Kloss appear on the cover of the magazine over and over again. And many people are to complain about the issue, as Japanese Supermodel, and Actress Tao Okamoto was the first Japanese women to score the cover of Vogue Japan, itself, after 3 years!!!!!!! Okamoto was on Vogue Japan’s October 2013 issue, Stunning in a Beautiful plaid Celine ensemble. As stunning and as unique as Okamoto’s cover look was, Kloss’ latest cover look for the magazine was not so Stunning. Hopefully Vogue Japan will get the memo soon.
