Feminine and Quirky Separates Make for Fun at House of Holland

As the collection was released yesterday, Henry Holland made a feminine and quirky statement fun for Pre-Fall. As a Cobalt pleated chiffon dress gets a statement with aqua and white stripes on the bottom. Plaid separates get mixed with stripes. A silk full skirt gets printed with sheilds in all bright hues, and topped off with a red graphic hoodie. Buttoned blue velvet dress gets quirky with a printed collar. And each look gets an instant finish with lavish polka dotted pumps, in bold hues.

Henry Holland’s muse Charlotte Wiggins shows off the collection.

Valentino Spring 2014

Known for their breathtaking gowns, season after season, there’s no surprise that Valentino‘s Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccoli have left everyone Speechless. In their show notes, the show took inspiration from, “Imaginary Ethnic Groups,” as the collection took a more Queenly approach. There is also a little bit of a reminiscence to the costumes from the Game of Thrones.

I really loved though, the mix of neutral and pastel hues, with rich hues of Oxblood and Navy seen throughout the collection. And the mixture of textures, especially those suede shorts and capes paired with those chiffon bow tied tops. But the many prints seen throughout the collection, really gave a Conservative, Queen like vibe; and in fabrics of lace and silk, and many belted around the waist. It just looks so modern. Masterpiece, indeed.
